"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

Conversations with God

CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD...How do you pray? The dictionary defines prayer as "a spiritual communion with God, as in supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession. A devout petition to God." But how does one pray to the Creator of heaven and earth? Jesus models it for us in Matthew 6: 9-13, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."
Jesus also tells us prior to this that we should not babble like pagans when we pray just to be heard saying many words...we should go into our room and close the door. God knows what we need before we ask Him, we do not need to make a spectacle of ourselves to others to be heard by the Father.
So, I ask again...How do you pray? How do you talk with the God of all creation? This page will include various ways in which I personally commune with my Savior...music, scripture, life-stories that give way to conversation with Him, pictures, quotes, etc. My hope is that you may be blessed as I am and find comfort and joy in these conversations that I share as I continually add to the collection ...

Feb. 29, 2012    There are so many times when I have been fishing at sunset I look up and see the most beautiful sight. How can there not be a God, a Creator, of such majesty? I see Him in His beautiful creation and I must praise Him and thank Him for it. Genesis Chapter 1 spells it out day by day and then says, (vs31) "God saw all that He had made, and it was very good."
Can I share a secret with you? It's not the fishing that I am focusing on at that moment I look up, but the Lord's artistry. It's the quietness of the world with only The Creator and I talking in that moment. He speaks to me with the sounds of each wave breaking on the shore, with the songs of the birds flying nearby, maybe the distant sounds of children playing at the edge of the water. In those moments He is telling me, "See, Terri, if I can do all this, just think of the master-piece I will have with you as my clay." My response can only be, "Take me Father and mold me to Your Will."

June 2, 2012   This was one of my favorite songs as a teenager. It always gave me a smile, and always lifted my spirit to help me to sing praises to the Lord.

Psalm 105:1-4     1 Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. 2 Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. 3 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. 4 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
